We’ve had so much going on for the past few months that we’ve neglected posting. Now, I’ve got so many things to post I wasn’t sure where to start. I started looking at these photos from a portrait session in Tallahassee from right before Christmas and knew I had to share these first. I know it was a few months ago, but, it was a ton of fun. Plus, there is a German shepherd in a sweater vest and even an emu named Kevin!
See for yourself. 😉
Sue is a former co-worker and she invited me to photograph her awesome family before her daughter Tori left for the military. I am so glad that she did because we had a ton of fun photographing this adorable family!
Kevin didn’t want anything to do with being photographed. Bill tried valiantly to lure him to the far end of the enclosure, but Kevin teased us with his presence before running off into the brush. Emus are funny creatures!
Recently we did family photos for some amazing people that we also get to call friends. One of the mantras we live by is to keep things simple. We use this approach for many things, including photography. This mantra is why you’ll never see any of our images that are over-crowded with props. People are beautiful and are usually the only subjects needed for great photos. In this case, a simple blanket and lots of fun were the key ingredients for this awesome session. We took them at our home in Ochlocknee, Georgia with beautiful south Georgia fall scenery as the backdrop. So, enjoy these images of a few of our favorite people and their two kids!
Who doesn’t love cute little babies? India and Alex are definitely ready to meet their bundle of joy. My husband Buck came along and helped me out on this shoot and we had a ton of fun. India and Alex knew the exact spot they wanted the pictures shot at and this dirt road just put the cherry on top of this session. Also, if their personalities are any indication this baby is going to be so much fun!
Congratulations you guys and thank you for letting us share these moments with you.
I’m a pretty lucky person. I’ve had the privilege of photographing my nephew, John Hogan, even before he was born. To top that off, my sister-in-law is a natural beauty with long blonde hair and pretty blue eyes. I got to take some photos of them in a field owned by a friend of the family. I was pretty excited about it because this field grows this amazing red grass between plantings! Here are just a few photos I got from that session so you can see why I’m so lucky. 😉
Welcome to the first blog post for Anchored Fine Art and Photography! It’s been a long time coming, but, I finally got enough courage to sit here and write these words. First things first, my name is Lindsey Hogan and I love to create. I am an artist by nature. When I was a child I carried a bag of art supplies with me almost everywhere I went. Today, I still paint (mostly in acrylics) and in the past 6 years have adopted photography as my own. I’ve grown to love photography as much as painting and have passed the love to my husband, Buck. He has gotten so good, he’s now a second shooter here at Anchored for weddings and large events. I love working with him so much! He’s really my better half. 😉
Anyways, back to why I’m here…
For so long, being an artist for a living was a far away dream and it seemed totally unrealistic by the worlds standards. The fear of failure and of what other people would think held me back from fully pursuing my dream(s). I wondered, ‘What will they think?’ ‘Am I good enough?’ ‘Could God even use me?’ ‘Will I fail?’. So, that’s why I’m here. I have a dream that I want to see fulfilled and I’m going to kick fear in the face to do so. These blog posts will soon be filled with stories from our life, photo shoots, and paintings. I hope you will keep coming back to see what Abba God is doing through this adventure. Let’s kick fear in the face together! By the way, here’s one of my favorite scriptures that has helped me to overcome fear.
‘For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.’
2 Timothy 1:7
Realizing that fear is not from God has been a constant for me. I have been given power, love and self-disciple! Wow. God’s grace astounds me every.single.time!
Thank you for stopping by. In the next week or so, expect another blog post where you will get to know us a little more.
